USBA Students in the News!

September 24, 2008

Martial Arts Students in Orange CountyCongratulations to Blake Ferguson, USBA student and fellow Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu classmate. Blake’s hockey team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, defeated the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 in the league championship.

Blake has been playing hockey for nearly 17 years. Born in Minnesota, where nearly everyone plays hockey, Blake continued to play in Illinois and now in Orange County. In attendance for the championship game were some of Blake’s martial arts classmates, supporting his efforts on the ice, and looking to see if Blake utilized his Gracie Jiu-Jitsu techniques while pinning opponents on the boards!

Way to go, Blake!

Great story…nice to spotlight students like Blake in their other lives, so we know more about them than “susceptible to kimura” or “likes to throw double hook!”
