Just a reminder to everyone…it’s Family Day at the Beach!
Each summer for the past 5 years, we’ve had a Family Picnic at Doheny Park in Dana Point. It is a really fun event for the whole family!
This year will prove to be even better! We have lots of fun activities planned, including a balloon twister, a caricature artist, board breaking, tug-of-war, and 3-legged races. And don’t forget your water gun!!
USBA will provide all the hamburgers, hotdogs, condiments and paper goods. We only ask you bring a side dish or drink to share!

Family Class Day! – Saturday, July 18th – Do you have a family member that would love to try the martial arts? Share the experience, get in shape sweat a little and have some fun! Sign up today!
Black Belt Club Nunchaku Seminar – Saturday, July 18th - Attention Black Belt Club Students! Learn the Nunchaku Form in this very special seminar. This is an opportunity you don’t want to miss, so mark your calendar!
Nuclear Dodgeball Night! – Friday, July 24th – Don’t miss this glow-in-the-dark dodgeball tournament with games, pizza, fun and friends….can you handle the heat? PARENTS: enjoy a fun night out or a quiet night at home while your child is having a blast! Cost $20, only $10 for BBC members.
Boot Camp Buddy Day – Saturday, July 25th - Wear your camo t-shirts and fatigues ’cause we’re having a Boot Camp! “Recruits” will be enjoying an Obstacle Course, Tug of War, and Agility Training. Bring a friend, it’s Buddy Day!

June = FUN for kids at USBA! And parents, there is always something for you, too, especially the dads in June.
Kung Fu Panda Movie Night! – June 5th, from 6:30–10:30pm! Not only will we be watching a great movie, but there will be Kung Fu games, Furious Five Tournament, and of course, dinner & snacks! The cost is only $15 for BBC members and siblings, $25 for others.
Father’s Day Essay Contest! – June is special month for dads! Win your dad a present this Father’s Day by writing ashort essay. Essays are due by Thursday, June 18th; winers will be notified at the Father & Child Workout Class on Saturday, June 20th. Here’s a form to use for your essay.
Father & Child Workout! – Saturday, June 20th, at 10:00–10:40am . Kids, this is your chance to show Dad everything there is to know about Martial Arts Training! Enjoy this great opportunity to train with your dad in our special Father-Child Class. Sign up at USBA today!
School’s Out Buddy Day BASH! – Saturday, June 20th, at 11:30am. Come join the fun and bring a friend! We’re playing games and breaking boards, watching demonstrations, and more! Parents, we’re serving the kids pizza and drinks, and there will be raffle prizes as well. Sign up at our front desk at USBA.

Please note the following change to the May Graduation Ceremony schedule. For those due for promotion to their next belt rank this month, our Graduation Ceremony will be Friday night, May 22nd.
- Lil’ Dragons (ages 4–6) 6:15–7:00pm
- Juniors (ages 7–11) 7:00–7:45pm
- Teens (ages 12–17) 7:00–7:45pm
Candidates for promotion will be examined during Spotlight Week, May 18th – May 21st, at their regular class time. Juniors, Orange Belts and above, and Lil’ Dragons, Green Belts and above, and all Teens, are REQUIRED to bring their safety gear (sparring equipment) during “Spotlight Week B-Day,” as we will be conducting the exam. Please make every effort to attend class regularly in the next two weeks, as well as the Graduation Ceremony… Remember Progress leads to Interest!
If you CAN NOT attend class in the next couple of weeks or will be out of town, please call us as soon as possible so we can make arrangements for your exam. If you are going to miss the Graduation Ceremony, there will be a makeup ceremony on Friday, May 29th at 5:00 pm. Also, on the 22nd, our regular Dream Team 6:50pm class will be canceled to make room for the Graduation Ceremony.

Mom’s Night Out! – Treat that special Mom for Mother’s Day be dropping off the kids for the evening, Friday, May 8th, from 6:30pm–10:30pm. Limited spots are available for kids 5 years and older. Kids will enjoy games, pizza, movies, contests, and good, old-fashioned FUN!
Mother’s Day Workout – Don’t miss this opportunity to train with Mom at our special Mother’s Day Workout, on Saturday, May 9th, at 10am. This is your chance to show Mom everything there is to know about Martial Arts training!
Mother’s Day Essay Contest – Win a Mother’s Day Gift for your Mom! Write an essay telling us why your Mom is the BEST Mom! The top winners, by age bracket, will win a very special gift just for your Mom! Turn in your essay by Thursday, May 7th.

Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Seminar – Royce Gracie will be conducting a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Seminar at USBA on Tuesday, March 31st! Children’s class is scheduled from 6:00–7:00pm, adults and teens from 7:00–8:30pm. Come and join us for this exciting and informative seminar, and an opportunity to train with Royce Gracie, a legend in the martial arts!
Easter Egg Hunt! – On Saturday, April 4th, from 11:30–12:15pm, US Blackbelt Academy is hosting its annual Hunt for Easter Eggs & Buddy Day! Students age 4 and above are welcome and encouraged to bring friends and family members. Please sign up as soon as possible so we can request that the Easter Bunny hides enough eggs for everyone!
Spring Break Camp! – Make this spring break a BLAST on Thursday, April 9th and 10th, 8:30am–12:30pm. You will not find a more exciting spring break camp than ours! Learn cool, new martial arts skills and tricks you can show to all your friends, including Board Breaking and Star Wars “Sparring!” Space is limited, so sign up today! The cost for this two-day event is $49 for both days, or $25/day. A registration form can be completed at USBA or downloaded right here.

Women’s Personal Safety Seminar – Over the course of 5 consecutive Saturdays, beginning this Saturday, March 7th, USBA will be hosting an important seminar for women and girls, age 13 and up. Contact us for more information, or click on the image below. All classes will be held from 9:00–10:00am. Feel empowered when facing dangerous situations!
Spa Party – Ladies’ Night Out – On Friday, March 13th, from 7:00–8:30pm, US Blackbelt Academy and Rejuvenation Oasis Day Spa invite YOU for a complimentary night of relaxation, “girl talk,” and just plain fun! Please RSVP by March 11th. Please join us and bring a girlfriend – massage treatments, reflexology, light appetizers and drinks, gift bags and raffle prizes!
Star Wars Movie Night – Attention Jedi Knights! On Friday, March 27th, 6:30–10:30pm, we’ll be viewing The Clone Wars, enjoying pizza and juice, and playing some cool Star Wars games! The cost for this event is $25, and only $15 for BBC members.

Reminder to all USBA adult students… our Thursday night class, February 12th, at 7:40pm, will be taught by Rodrigo Gracie, our MMA curriculum director. Remember to bring your boxing gloves. Shin guards may also be useful! Get ready to rock!
